The Officers' Club was established in the Almaty National Center in the significant year 2005, in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Victory over Nazi Germany. Colonel Vadim Vasilyevich Ni was elected chairman of the club, and the initiator, organizer and current chairman is Herman Ignatievich Shegai.
The purpose and objectives of the club include the involvement of officers in the social life of the Korean diaspora, participation in the events of the AKNC, assistance to club members and education of young people on the martial traditions of the older generation. The members of the club are from captain to colonel (48 people) pilots, tankmen, rocket scientists, scouts, signalmen, retired officers who have served in the Armed Forces and retired by age.
Colonels Nagai L. A., Lee G.D., Shin A. I., Kim P. V., Kim Peter B., Lieutenant Colonels Hegai G.V., TE A. P., captains and ranks Lee M. P., Lee G.N., Major Yun D.N., captains Choi E.S., Kim I.G. and others take an active role in the work of the club. The club holds joint events and celebrations for members of the Korean diaspora.
