In October 2001, a chess club was established, which today has 45 members, including the oldest chess fan at the age of 87 and the youngest - 30 years old. The first chairman of the club was Tsoi Leonard Sergeevich, then from 2002 to 2008 was headed by Kim Alexey Maksimovich. Members of the club hold blitz tournaments every two months, and also participate in competitions dedicated to significant events.
In November 2007, the club members became winners in their nomination at the Spartakiad among the cultural centers of Almaty, held under the auspices of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. Candidates for the Master of Sports in chess, recognized masters of the Chess Club for ACNE, include Kang A.S., Sim S. A., Lee A.M., Nem Chan Su and Choi V. P.
